Our Participants Take on the Biggest Morning Tea: Featured in Region Illawarra

21 May 2026

This week Region Illawarra covered a very special milestone for The Oaks Collective and our participants.

Six NDIS participants from Individual Me Disability Support planned and ran a public Biggest Morning Tea for Cancer Council entirely by themselves. The menu, the games, the decorations, the guest experience. Every decision came from them.

Region Illawarra captured the story of how this event represents everything The Oaks Collective is about. Building real confidence and real skills in a real community environment. Skills like budgeting, food preparation, food safety, communication and teamwork that open doors to employment.

We are incredibly proud of what our participants have achieved and grateful to the Illawarra community for their ongoing support of The Oaks Collective.
